Club Restoration Projects

Aero Club Albatross takes pride in that it routinely restores and refurbishes its gliders. The club rents a fully equipped workshop located at Blairstown Airport. Thanks to the efforts of our club members, we restored a Grob Twin Astir and Rolladen Schneider LS-4 that were acquired inexpensively in a poor condition. Volunteers have labored hundreds of hours sanding, priming, painting, and polishing under the guidance of our club restoration experts. In 2015, a club member donated a Rolladen Schneider LS-3, which the club is currently restoring. We have completely restored its Komet trailer and we are now refinishing its wings and horizontal stabilizer. We also recovered and repainted our SGS 2-33A fuselage, affectionately nicknamed the Mad Cow. We also use our workshop to do routine maintenance and panel work.
