GUSTAV SCHEURER AWARD[1]

The Gustav Scheurer Trophy, ACA's top award goes to that member that distinguished him or /herself by outstanding contribution and service to Aero Club Albatross. Recipients serve on the Awards Committee for three years.

THE BLUE MAX[2]

This handsome medal, produced by an Old World craftsman, Karl Kretschmer, goes to that pilot who has distinguished himself/herself with an outstanding flight. The determination takes into account the type and performance of the aircraft and other factors that combine to make the flight extraordinary.

In 2006, we formally adopted policy that recipient of the Blue Max serve on the Awards Committee for three years.

DIY DO-IT-YOURSELF CONTEST

A trophy in stained glass produced by Ron Schwartz, a craftsman of the New World. This coveted award is presented to that pilot amassing the most points over the course of a flying season in the monthly contest for 1-26 devotees.

DODO AWARD[12]

A magnificent sculpture in rare wood of a winged creature, presented to that pilot who has distinguished himself/herself with a flight so outrageous as to be beyond belief.

ACA ANNUAL ALTITUDE TROPHY[14]

Awarded to that club member who achieves the highest altitude flight during the year. The flight must originate in New Jersey exceed 10,000 feet, and include a climb of not less than 7,000 feet.

ACA FLYING ANVIL AWARD[16]

Created to encourage two-place cross-country flying, the Flying Anvil honors members who make the outstanding flight of the year in the Club’s 2-33 aircraft.

2003: In the absence of an outstanding 2-33 flight, the anvil will be awarded for an outstanding Blanik or other low performance two place flight.
